Dropped Cone by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen was commissioned by Neumarkt Galerie in Cologne, Germany. The sculpture appears to be slipping off the roof of the shopping mall, The cone resembles those appearing in front of the countless ice cream parlors found throughout the city with a gesture towards the other icons of Cologne, known as the city of steeples.
