Fabrication
Kreysler & Associates’ primary business is fabricating custom composites. Making high quality products with an emphasis on craftsmanship has always been at our core. While our expertise necessarily branches into the design, engineering, handling, and installation of composite products, our focus is always around how to successfully execute their construction. Whether it’s art or architecture, this is especially important to us because of the complexity of the projects we’re attracted to.
Facilities
Green island Road, American Canyon
Our Green Island Road facility has been our home since 2000. It consists of a 3,250 m2 (35,000 ft2 ) covered fabrication area and 4 acres of laydown area and is home to our research and development laboratory. This facility is optimized for one-of-a-kind or limited production projects ranging from sculpture and unique contemporary architecture to Lloyds Registery-certified composite submarine pressure hulls. Under this roof, we have produced most of our projects known worldwide for innovation, quality, and 21st Century craftsmanship.
The facility includes 3 CNC milling machines -the largest of which is 65’ long x 29’ wide x 9.5’ tall. Also included is a 10’ x 19’ diameter seven-axis robot, a 4 axis CNC Hotwire cutting machine, Dual overhead cranes, Metal and conventional wood shops, a 6,000 ft.² fabric-covered special projects area, and easy access to interstate freeways and railroads.
As with our new Mare Island Facility, this shop is a fully permitted FRP fabrication facility compliant with all Federal, State, and local regulations. EPA #CAL000224163 BAAQMD #02004 and OSHA-compliant engineered HVAC system for FRP facilities.
Mare Island, Vallejo
Our new "state of the art" composite fabrication facility is located on historic Mare Island in Vallejo CA, only 15 minutes from our Green Island Road shop with direct ferry service from San Francisco. The building, originally built by the US Navy during World War II, is 4180 m2 (45,000 ft2) under the roof. This shop is purpose-built to fabricate composite building facades. Features include a 75-foot long by 13-foot wide by 4-foot tall 5-axis CNC milling machine capable of milling 500 square feet of unique mold surface per shift per day. In addition, we have a 7-axis robot bay with 2 Comau robots able to apply unique surface treatments to composite panels. Measuring and quality assurance are by laser tracking for high precision fabrication tolerances, mixing of resins and additives are fully automated and digitally controlled. Products manufactured at this site are intended to meet rigorous quality and performance standards, including our unique patented formulations to comply with international building code standards for multistory type 1 buildings, including several configurations meeting the NFPA 285.
