Detroit Institute of Art
Project
The Michael Graves designed addition to the Detroit Institute of Art required an oxidized copper cornice. The architect didn’t want the oxidized copper to cast streaks onto the white marble façade below. The solution was an all FRP cornice with color to match the oxidized green copper but without the risk of staining. Panels were fabricated using vacuum infusion.
