Leap
Project
Leap (aka Red Rabbit) is a 56-foot sculpture by Lawrence Argent. It is suspended from seven cables fastened to the terminal ceiling over the baggage claim area at the Sacramento California International Airport. The sculpture appears to be leaping through the atrium space into a vortical granite suitcase on the ground below. Leap is unique for Kreysler & Associates being its only all-aluminum fabrication. Beneath the red outer triangles is an all-aluminum monocoque version of the rabbit used as an armature to support the exterior triangles.
