Project
The original Houseball, was made for the performance Il Corso del Coltello in Venice Italy was designed by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. In Il Corso del Coltello, the Houseball, was made up of a bundle of personal possessions.
The pattern used to fabricate blankets was made almost entirely of 1-inch thick slices of foam cut on a 2-axis CNC router whose data was derived from a laser scan of a one-foot diameter plaster maquette. The furniture was created using foam rubber as a male mold which was removed after covering it with FRP.
